Marcela, Regional Bound4LIFE/AVIVA  Director, is one of five women featured on the Back to Life website.

From website:

MARCELA

Why am I walking?

As a young Hispanic woman affected by abortion in the most personal way, I am walking out my Trail of Tears, so that Hispanic women affected by abortion will have the courage to break out of their silence, and be a voice to end this injustice in every culture.

Who am I?

I am a young Hispanic woman who has found my purity and innocence through Christ. I love to pray and be a voice for righteousness and justice.

Marcela Garcia – Back to Life Walker

On March 17– April 6, 2012, 39 young women––each representing one year of legalized abortion in America––will set out to walk nearly 250 miles of open road for a 21-day trek from the nation’s largest Planned Parenthood center, located in Houston, Texas, to the courthouse in Dallas where Roe v Wade was born. Marcela Garcia, Regional Coordinator for Bound4LIFE/AVIVA in California is one of the 39 women chosen to be one of the walkers.

WOMEN IN THEIR 20ʼS ACCOUNT FOR 56% OF ALL US ABORTIONS

1 in every 3 Hispanic pregnancies ends in abortion 1 in every 2 African American pregnancies ends in abortion

Back to Life is a young womenʼs pro-life movement fashioned to awaken Americaʼs conscience to the injustices of abortion by amplifying the young female voice.”

We have a pre-emptive strategy on the cusp of a milestone in American history: the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The abortion industry grows at unprecedented levels, and this long-standing, twisted pattern rooted in eugenics can no longer be ignored.

In response to this corruption, the vision of the Back to Life Movement will, for the very first time in our nationʼs abortion discussion, empower the specific demographic that the abortion industry is relentlessly targeting – the young minority female voice. March 17-April 06, 2012, thirty-nine young women, each signifying a year marked by Roe v. Wade, will set out on foot for a prayer journey from Houston, Texas – home to our nationʼs largest Planned Parenthood facility – to the Dallas Courthouse – the birthplace of Roe v. Wade – to depict the tragic journey of legalized abortion in our nation. With these 39 young women, they will be launched on there prayer journey from Houston in front of the Planned Parenthood facility with thousands of people from around Texas who will be gathered there for a prayer rally. During the prayer journey a video documentary team with an internet channel will stream the journey live, daily featuring a young womanʼs account of how abortion has affected her life and why she has made the sacrifice to walk. When they reach Dallas, we are seeking to gather tens of thousands of people from around the nation to gather together for a 12-hour solemn assembly to fast, pray, and stand for the ending of abortion in America.

As this “fresh face” of the pro-life community is introduced to the abortion debate, it will undoubtably assure Planned Parenthood, the abortion industry, and its supporters that young women in this nation who believe in the right to life will no longer be the pawns of an industry that is targeting their communities.

Back To Life video

From http://www.backtolifemovement.com

Back to Life is a young women’s movement designed to awaken America’s conscience to the injustices of abortion by amplifying the female voice.

Thirty nine women, each one representing one year of legalized abortion in America, an entire generation touched by heartache and destruction, will walk 250 miles of open road back to where it all began. They will walk in remembrance of God’s goodness and restoration in their lives, forging a trail of repentance on behalf of America. Bearing in intercession the grief and pain of millions of women who have been scarred through post abortion trauma, guilt and sorrow. This is the American women’s trail of tears.

Urgency For Justice… Now is The Time For The Jesus Generation to Stand Up from Moral Outcry

Urgency for justice: the time is now for the Jesus generation to stand up

By Jael Zeballos • January 11, 2012 12:06 PM

“I recently attended two Christian youth conferences, onething 2011 and Passion 2012, which focus on loving and glorifying Jesus above all else. At the forefront of these two conferences was also the issue of justice and our role as the church—could this generation be the Jesus generation? Those committed to be His voice, hands, and feet on the issues of justice, motivated by more than an emotional tug at the heart to actually believe that His bride can make a difference through prayer and bold action?

The time is now. There was a palpable sense urgency I felt among the thousands and thousands of young people surrounding me at these conferences, followers of Jesus who are rejoice in His love and long to share it with others. They are moving beyond religion, that is, rather than being moved by “’ought to and have to” they are moved by “get to,” as Lou Engle expressed at onething.

We get to have a life of intimacy with Jesus Christ. We get to worship the Almighty God, grow in the knowledge of Him, and be completely satisfied in Him. We get to share the good news of the gospel, of His second coming, of the eternal hope that we have in response to the eternal cry in our hearts to dwell with Him. We get to pray, fast and cry out to the Lord for the true justice and freedom that only He can offer, because we know that He responds! We get to be His hands and feet on this earth to address the pain that surrounds us on a daily basis.

Psalm 139 describes how each of us were “fearfully and wonderfully made,” or as Lou Engle profoundly conveyed: “the womb is God’s art studio, it’s His secret laboratory where He creates those made those in His image.” I cannot help but think about the more than 70, 000 combined attendees at both conferences, multitudes of people in our eyes, but brilliant individual works of art in His.  Now think about that number and multiply it by 715 and you will have roughly calculated the number of abortions performed in the United States since 1973: a total of 50 million lives. This number doesn’t even come close to abortions performed worldwide.

So what can we do in response to these injustices? Both onething 2011 and Passion 2012 featured the issue of modern-day human trafficking and slavery at their conferences. Passion 2012 raised more than 2.6 million dollars to combat the plight of 27 million slaves worldwide, and onething showed a moving documentary called Nefarious that chronicles the suffering of some of these individuals, which challenges Christians to stand up in prayer and deed. Rather than being overwhelmed by the suffering worldwide, the same hands held up in worship are now helping end injustice through intercession and action.

Who else can cry out for these millions? Bound4LIFE was created for such a mission, to be a voice to the voiceless by proclaiming LIFE. The time is now for people to know about true freedom and justice because we know we serve an all-powerful God who hears every cry and responds with zeal.Jael is originally from Bolivia, but grew up in the Northern Virginia area most of her life.
